The displaced populations brought with them documents dating from the 19th century until the early 20th century. These were issued by ecclesiastical or secular authorities and include baptism and marriage certificates, as well as property titles, firmans and documents from educational institutions and hospitals.

During the period of collecting the material that is in the Oral Tradition Archive, the refugee witnesses donated these documents to the Centre for Asia Minor Studies.
