The miscellanies of the Centre’s founders, Melpo Logotheti-Merlier (1890-1979) and Octave Merlier (1897-1976), and their correspondence constitute a rich private archive. Their correspondence, collections, unpublished works and writings span a period from around the 1910s to the 1970s. They reflect the educational background, as well as the personal intellectual interests, of these two significant figures and document the intellectual journey of modern Hellenism throughout the 20th century. This material intersects the Greek history of ideas with the corresponding European intellectual currents.
The Melpo Merlier Archive and the Octave Merlier Archive were catalogued by their close associates Aglaia Ayioutanti and Eleni Papanikolaou, respectively.
